| The 1931 building has functioned since its opening as Gunnison's primary muncipal facility. Architecturally, the structure is a good local exmaple of the Art Deco style as designed by Denver architects Mountjoy and Frewen. This stuccoed concrete exterior is accented with cast concrete Art Deco detailing. The city invites you to go inside and look at the many historic pictures located on interior hallway walls and Council Chamber. The building was listed on the State Register of Historic places in 1998. |
